(RightIsRight.co) – After discovering that his plane ticket was a fake, video footage caught a rampaged passenger smashing up an American Airlines counter with a hammer in Chile.

The incident happened at Santiago’s Nuevo Pudahuel Airport.
According to local news outlet Cooperativa, the Haitian man lost his temper after trying to check in for his American Airlines flight to Miami, Florida, and finding out he could not get on board.
A witness footage showed the man, who was traveling to Haiti via Miami, frantically searching through his work bag after an airline employee told him he could not get on the flight.
In a fit of rage, he grabbed a hammer and climbed behind the counter, where he started smashing several mounted TV screens.
Moreover, the man then turned his attention to the computer screens at the check-in counter and destroyed them as well.
He then walked over to a luggage trolley and began to wheel it away before a woman approached to confront the attacker.
Meanwhile, internet users had mixed feelings after watching the man’s behavior.
“What type of “Passenger” packs a hammer? Expect he will be looking at a long jail sentence from the Chilean justice system,” one X user wrote.
“Wow, he really wanted to go. Well at least now he has a free trip coming … to Prison,” another user posted.
Authorities reported that the rampage caused about $20,000 in damages.
In addition, airport security eventually detained the man, and he was handed over to the police.
An American Airlines spokesperson confirmed the incident, stating that local authorities were called to handle the “disruptive individual” in the airport lobby.
“We thank our team for their professionalism and apologize to our customers for the inconvenience,” the spokesperson said in a statement.
