(RightIsRight.co) – Bids for the 2022 midterms are beginning to come out as the race to win a majority in the Senate heats up. Current Senator Rand Paul (R-KY) has a tough fight ahead as a progressive Democratic candidate just announced his campaign to take back the long-time conservative state.
On Thursday, July 1, former state House Representative Charles Booker released a campaign video announcing his candidacy, shown here:
Let’s make freedom ring. Real freedom, from the hood to the holler.
We can start by taking our seat back from Rand Paul.

Last year, Booker ran against Democratic candidate and Marine veteran Amy McGrath, but missed the nomination by less than 3 percentage points. McGrath then failed to beat Senate Minority Leader Mitch McConnell (R-KY) by almost 20 points. However, Booker is hoping with a more progressive message, he can take on Paul who has drawn much criticism from the Left this year.
However, Paul is ready for the fight. The Kentucky Senator has about $3.1 million in his campaign account and won his reelection bid in 2016 with nearly a 15-point margin. Kentucky is known for its conservative values and is likely going to lean right again. But, that doesn’t mean Paul is not vulnerable to a potential loss.
This Senate race will be one to keep a close eye on, and many Conservatives invested in winning back the Senate may choose to support Paul with their time and money.
