A couple of days before Christmas, 16-year-old Meek suffered severe blunt force trauma after falling from a vehicle on Canyon Road in Vestavia Hills, Alabama.
Despite the immediate medical attention and his transfer to the University of Alabama at Birmingham Hospital, he died from his injuries on December 21. The Jefferson County Coroner’s office released the official report of his death.
The Vestavia Hills Police Department is conducting an investigation into this tragic accident to uncover the precise circumstances.
News of Meek’s untimely death spread quickly across social media, leading to an outpouring of condolences and memories of his vibrant spirit.
His family announced his passing on his Instagram page: “His 16 years on this earth were far too short, but he accomplished so much and significantly impacted everyone he met.”
The late actor gained recognition for portraying the younger version of the lead character in “Baby Driver” and appeared in TV series like “MacGyver” and CW’s “Legacies.”
His talent agency, J Pervis Talent, praised him as “an extraordinary young talent” whose impact on the industry was deeply felt.
His contributions went beyond acting; he was a high achiever in school and was involved in football, choir, and even student government.
Meek’s love for life was encapsulated by his adventures in scuba diving and his visit to all 50 U.S. states. He was an avid video gamer who enjoyed watching “The Simpsons.”
His family cherished his unique personality, noting how his quick wit and spontaneous nature brought joy to their lives.
To honor Hudson’s memory, his life is celebrated on December 28 at Dawson Memorial Baptist Church in Homewood, Alabama.
His family has also established the Hudson J. Meek Memorial Scholarship for Vestavia Hills High School students.
