(RightIsRight.co) – The mainstream media always wants to pick on someone. Over the past year, Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has been their target. But, as Americans look upon his state’s COVID-19 record, there’s no denying he did an incredible job leading his state, and many have taken note, saying that DeSantis can wear “criticism from the Left like a badge of honor.”
On Friday, May 21, columnist Joe Nocera wrote an op-ed for Bloomberg declaring the state of Florida and its governor were the “pandemic winners.” He noted the Sunshine State’s latest unemployment rate for March was 4.7% while comparing it to Democrat strongholds like New York and California whose rates are 8.5% and 8.3%, respectively.
The state stayed open mostly over the past year as hundreds of thousands of new residents relocated to Florida. All of this was thanks to DeSantis’ leadership and willingness to stand up to the Left.

Time and again, Democrats condemned DeSantis for his response to COVID-19, but he has proven them all wrong. His state is thriving while others still struggle under lockdowns, mask mandates, and other draconian restrictions. Perhaps rather than attacking DeSantis, Democrats could learn a thing or two from him.
