(RightIsRight.co) – Most Americans don’t expect the FBI to show up at their door at 6 a.m. on a Wednesday morning. But, for President Donald Trump’s personal attorney Rudy Giuliani, that is just what happened on April 28. As the story unfolds, though, it seems to be more political than mainstream media is leading the public to believe.
Seven FBI Agents Raid Giuliani’s Manhattan Apartment
For about two hours on Wednesday, April 28, FBI agents combed through Giuliani’s New York City apartment taking cell phones, laptops, hard drives, and other electronics. Giuliani told the press the stated reason for the “covert warrant” that dates back to May 1, 2018, was because he did not file a statement with the Department of Justice that he was representing a Ukrainian national.
Giuliani says he has never represented a Ukrainian national in front of the United States government, noting that would be “too compromising.”
Potential Political Retaliation Against Donald Trump
On Wednesday, May 5, Giuliani appeared on Steve Bannon’s War Room to discuss the recent raid. He highlighted that, according to his sources, the warrant only goes back to May 1, 2018, the same day he became the personal attorney for former President Donald Trump. Using these facts, Giuliani speculated that the true reason the FBI raided his apartment was to try and find compromising information on Trump.
Patrick Basham of the Democracy Institute commented on the issue, saying it is “crystal clear that this is a political retaliation.” Similarly, Giuliani’s attorney Robert Costello called the raid “legal thuggery” and notes that it was “totally unnecessary.” He believes its purpose was to “make him look like he’s some sort of criminal.”
Federal Investigations Don’t Stop There
The same morning that the FBI was carrying out the raid on Giuliani’s apartment, additional investigators seized a cell phone from Washington attorney Victoria Toensing. Toensing and her husband are known friends of Giuliani, but the FBI has said Toensing is not under investigation.
At this point, Americans shouldn’t be surprised that the federal government carried out another raid that’s likely meant to continue the witch hunt against President Trump and his inner circle. Hopefully, as this story unfolds, citizens will get a better picture of just what the FBI is after and who, if anyone, has actually broken the law.
