Sinema Draws Ire of Squad Members

The

(RightIsRight.co) – There’s nothing like attacking your own political party to stir up some drama. Perhaps unsurprisingly, “Squad” representatives Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-NY) and Rashida Tlaib (D-MI) attacked one of their own over her support for the $1.2-trillion bipartisan infrastructure bill this week.

On Wednesday, July 28, Senator Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ) joined Senator Rob Portman (R-OH) in announcing the agreed-upon bipartisan infrastructure bill that has now been passed by the Senate. The bill proposes $550 billion in new spending for infrastructure projects like highways, public transit, and power grid upgrades, among others.

However, AOC and Tlaib attacked Sinema for supporting the bill, which was whittled down from the original $3.5 trillion proposed by Democrats. AOC shared her disgust for the Arizona senator on Twitter, highlighting the members of the committee working out the bill were all white:

Similarly, Tlaib shared the following on Twitter against Sinema:

Rather than celebrating the fact that our congressional leaders managed to come to a bipartisan agreement to move our nation forward, AOC and Tlaib are directly attacking one of their own. Perhaps rather than going after Senator Sinema, they should take a page from her playbook and learn to appreciate others’ opinions to work together for the good of our nation.
