(RightIsRight.co) – Employees of “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” were caught and have been criminally charged with being inside the United States Capitol Complex illegally after having already been thrown out once by law enforcement authorities.
According to Fox News in, “US Capitol Police arrest Stephen Colbert staffers at House office building, charged with illegal entry“:
“The U.S. Capitol Police arrested a group of staffers with CBS’s “The Late Show With Stephen Colbert” after they allegedly illegally entered a U.S. House of Representatives office building on Thursday night, Fox News has learned.
“The group of seven people were arrested in the Longworth House Office Building after being escorted out of the Jan. 6 committee hearing earlier in the day because they did not have proper press credentials, according to sources.” [emphasis added]
According to an official statement from the U.S. Capitol Police:
“On June 16, 2022, at approximately 8:30 p.m., U.S. Capitol Police (USCP) received a call for a disturbance in the Longworth House Office Building. Responding officers observed seven individuals, unescorted and without Congressional ID, in a sixth-floor hallway. The building was closed to visitors, and these individuals were determined to be a part of a group that had been directed by the USCP to leave the building earlier in the day. They were charged with Unlawful Entry. This is an active criminal investigation, and may result in additional criminal charges after consultation with the U.S. Attorney.”
Several prominent supporters of those being held without bond after being arrested for allegedly being in the Capitol illegally on January 6, 2021, have questioned why Colbert’s employees are not being treated the same way as the January 6 protesters.
