(RightIsRight.co) – After 100 former RINO national security and foreign policy officials endorsed Kamala Harris for president, Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump was attacked and called “unfit to serve” another term in office.
These former officials come from the administrations of Republican presidents like Ronald Reagan, George H.W. Bush, George W. Bush, Trump himself, and Democrats Bill Clinton and Barack Obama.
These officials signed a letter stating: “We believe that the president of the United States must be a principled, serious, and steady leader.”
Though they expect to disagree with Harris on various policy issues, they wrote: “We believe that she possesses the essential qualities to serve as president and Donald Trump does not. We therefore support her election to be president.”
Moreover, signers included William Cohen and Chuck Hagel, both former defense secretaries under Clinton and Obama. Other names included William Webster, a former CIA and FBI director under Reagan and George H.W. Bush, and Michael Hayden, who led the CIA and NSA under George W. Bush and Obama.
In turn, the letter sharply criticized Trump:
“We firmly oppose the election of Donald Trump. As president, he promoted daily chaos in government, praised our enemies and undermined our allies, politicized the military and disparaged our veterans, prioritized his personal interest above American interests, and betrayed our values, democracy, and this country’s founding document.”
They also pointed to Trump’s actions during the January 6, 2021, Capitol riot, his “susceptibility to flattery and manipulation” by authoritarian leaders like Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping, and his “chaotic national security decision-making” as reasons he is unfit to serve in any public office.
Likewise, the former officials endorsed Harris because of her support for NATO and Israel, her commitment to bipartisan border security, and her promise to appoint a Republican to her administration.
Former Trump officials signing the letter included Mark Harvey, a former special assistant to the president, and Elizabeth Neumann, a former Homeland Security assistant secretary.
Other Republicans backing Harris include former Attorney General Alberto Gonzales, former Illinois representative Adam Kinzinger, and Trump’s ex-press secretary Stephanie Grisham, along with communications director Anthony Scaramucci.
