On Monday (March 20), former President Donald Trump slammed Florida Governor Ron DeSantis’s (R) response to the former President’s potential indictment.

Trump made his remarks shortly after DeSantis made his first comments about the possible indictment.

In a post on Truth Social, where Trump shared a link to a story making claims against DeSantis, the former President called out DeSantis, saying that “Ron DeSanctimonious will probably find out about FALSE ACCUSATIONS & FAKE STORIES… in the future” when the Governor is “older, wiser, and better known.”

He added that at that time, DeSantis would most likely “want to fight these misfits just like I do.”

Trump’s remarks came shortly after DeSantis made his first public comments on the potential indictment at an event on Monday.

The Florida Republican never mentioned Trump’s name during his response to a question about his thoughts on the rumored indictment. Instead, he took aim at Manhattan District Attorney Alvin Bragg, calling him out for being a “Soros-funded prosecutor” that was “pursuing a political agenda.”

DeSantis also referenced why Trump would be facing an indictment — a hush money payment to adult film star Stormy Daniels, saying, “I don’t know what goes into paying hush money to a porn star to secure silence over some type of alleged affair,” explaining he couldn’t comment on that.

In the past, DeSantis hasn’t been very vocal about Trump’s attacks. However, he has said that he wouldn’t “spend [his] time trying to smear other Republicans.”

DeSantis received plenty of ridicule from Trump’s supporters on Saturday and Sunday following Trump’s revelation that he could be indicted.
