Reports have surfaced that Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) and other GOP Presidential candidates could hit out at former President Donald Trump for not being strong enough to stand up for the life of an unborn child.

Trump tackled those assertions on Newsmax’s “Rob Schmitt Tonight” on Tuesday (May 16), repeating his stance in a Truth Social post on Wednesday morning.

Trump lauded his ability to “kill Roe v. Wade” despite no one coming close in 50 Years.

He described his efforts paying off and being a “shock” for everyone while touting that he had given the pro-life movement a strong negotiating position against “radicals” who are ready to kill children even in the ninth month of pregnancy.

He added that without him, there wouldn’t be “6 weeks, 10 weeks, 15 weeks or whatever is finally agreed to,” claiming that sans his efforts, “the pro-life movement would have just kept losing.”

He continued by thanking himself in the post, “Thank you President TRUMP!!!” he wrote.

Trump’s statement suggesting he catapulted the end of Roe v. Wade comes after the former President contrasted his stance with DeSantis’ six-week abortion ban in Florida.

In the Newsmax interview, Trump told Schmitt that his efforts gave the decision over to the states and had given pro-life people, which he described as “wonderful… and loving people,” the “power of negotiation.”

He then noted that DeSantis, who he called “DeSanctimonious,” was able to enact a six-week abortion limit in Florida.

He highlighted that, although some might agree with DeSantis’s law, “a lot of people don’t,” claiming the polarizing issue requires political nuance and the kind of power and leverage that Trump offers, adding that DeSantis was hemorrhaging female voters.
