Donald Trump Jr. misspoke during the latest episode of his podcast “Triggered with Donald Trump Jr.” which was released on Thursday through the video streaming site Rumble. While attempting to slam Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, Trump Jr. ended up making comments about his father, former President Donald Trump by accidentally stating that he had the “charisma of a mortician and the energy that makes Jeb Bush look like an Olympian.”
DeSantis first announced that he would be running for the White House on Wednesday during a Twitter Spaces conversation with Elon Musk. The campaign launch did not go as smoothly as DeSantis might have hoped, as the live broadcast was marred with technical difficulties, resulting in many people making fun of him.
According to the latest polling, Trump continues to be the frontrunner in the 2024 primary race, with DeSantis appearing as his toughest competitor.
In the latest episode of his podcast, Trump Jr. gave DeSantis a new nickname calling him “Ron DeStablishment” and claiming that he had a “nasally and effeminate” voice. He, however, made a mistake later by accidentally insulting his father, with comments that were meant to be issued towards DeSantis. Following this accidental comment, Trump Jr. went back to insulting the Florida Governor who he noted often changed his position and had not given a clear answer on what he would do about Ukraine, and added that he was not a true MAGA Republican.
The 17-second clip was posted on Twitter by Ron Filipkowski, an independent journalist, who has claimed to monitor “right-wing extremism.”
