Trump Success: Border Arrests PLUMMET – Near Record LOW!

(RightIsRight.co) – President Trump’s border security measures have led to a historic transformation at the southern border, with February 2025 illegal alien arrests plummeting to near-record lows.

The Border Patrol is expected to apprehend only 8,500 aliens by the end of the month, a staggering 94% reduction from the 141,000 arrests recorded in February 2024.

The remarkable turnaround demonstrates how quickly effective leadership can restore order after years of chaos under the previous administration.

The projected February numbers would represent the lowest monthly total in modern border security history, easily beating the previous low of 11,127 arrests set in April 2017 during Trump’s first administration.

Meanwhile, Border Patrol agents are now reporting approximately 359 illegal aliens per day attempting to cross the southern border, compared to thousands daily just months ago.

If this trend continues, illegal crossings could reach levels not seen since 1968 – marking a generational achievement in border security.

“The Trump effect,” as many border security experts call it, has dramatically altered migration patterns in just weeks.

President Trump’s immediate actions included reinstating a ban on asylum claims at the border, deploying military troops to assist with border operations, and ending the “catch and release” policies that incentivized illegal crossings for years.

Terrell County, Texas Sheriff Thaddeus Cleveland, whose jurisdiction was once overwhelmed by illegal crossings, expressed relief at the dramatic turnaround.

“It’s a relief,” Cleveland said, confirming what border communities have long known—that strong border policies work.

In addition, the administration’s multi-pronged approach has proved remarkably effective. Trump secured cooperation from Mexico, which deployed 10,000 troops to their side of the border after the president threatened tariffs on Mexican imports.

The administration also negotiated agreements with Central American countries to accept deportees and dramatically increased ICE operations within the United States.

Within his first 18 days in office, ICE arrested 11,000 illegal aliens who had been allowed to remain in the country under previous policies.

The administration has also resumed deportation flights to Venezuela and implemented a policy of sending violent, illegal criminals to a detention facility at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba.

“It’s the lowest the US has seen in almost a lifetime,” said Mark Krikorian, executive director of the Center for Immigration Studies, referring to the current border crossing numbers.

While San Diego remains the top region for illegal crossings, with 934 aliens apprehended so far this month, that number represents a fraction of what the sector was experiencing just months ago.

Predictably, the American Civil Liberties Union has sued the Trump administration over the asylum ban, claiming it violates U.S. immigration law.

However, the administration has maintained that securing the border is a national security priority that takes precedence over processing asylum claims from individuals who enter illegally.

The dramatic turnaround demonstrates what many conservatives have long argued – border security is primarily a matter of political will, not resources.

When the federal government commits to enforcing existing immigration laws and deterring illegal entry, would-be migrants respond accordingly by choosing legal pathways or not attempting the journey at all.

With February’s border statistics setting new benchmarks for enforcement success, the administration appears on track to fulfill one of President Trump’s central campaign promises – restoring order and sovereignty to America’s borders.

The question is whether these policies will withstand legal challenges from activist organizations determined to restore the open borders approach that has characterized recent years.
