Trump TARGETS Unions – Executive Order!

Red stamp reading executive order

President Trump has targeted federal labor rights, which have not gone unnoticed as he signed an executive order that aims to dismantle unions, particularly those within agencies tied to national security.

The sweeping action targets nine major departments, including Defense, Homeland Security, and Energy, where union obstruction has threatened America’s safety and efficiency.

Liberal union bosses are already threatening lawsuits as their power and dues collection mechanisms crumble.

The executive order, signed this week, will bring much-needed efficiency to government agencies by eliminating union-imposed red tape that has hampered national security operations.

The order affects the Departments of Defense, Veterans Affairs, State, Treasury, Energy, Justice, Commerce, Homeland Security, and Health and Human Services—all critical to America’s national security interests.

While mainstream media outlets criticize the move, the Trump administration’s focus is clear: ensuring government agencies can rapidly respond to threats without being bogged down by excessive union grievance procedures and collective bargaining demands.

The directive specifically targets federal employees in these departments, prohibiting unionization and ending existing collective bargaining agreements that have often slowed government response times.

The White House has taken this step because certain federal unions have been actively obstructing President Trump’s America First agenda.

The administration prioritizes national security over union interests by expanding the list of agencies exempt from federal labor relations laws under the Civil Service Reform Act of 1978.

The directive also directs agencies to shorten performance improvement plan timelines. It requires federal employees to return to in-person work, ending the remote work arrangements that have reduced government accountability.

Additionally, the government will no longer collect union dues, forcing unions to make their own collection arrangements and likely reducing their financial power.

Predictably, union bosses are furious. The American Federation of Government Employees (AFGE) claims the order will affect hundreds of thousands of civil servants and is preparing legal action.

The AFL-CIO has accused the administration of retaliating against unions that have challenged Trump’s policies in court.

Yet, not all federal law enforcement will be affected. Police and firefighters will still be permitted to bargain collectively.

Notably, the memo did not include U.S. Customs and Border Protection employees, whose union endorsed Trump.

This demonstrates the President’s continued support for border security personnel who align with his immigration policies.

The Office of Personnel Management memo clearly stated, “Consequently, those agencies and subdivisions are no longer required to collectively bargain with Federal unions.”

This decisive action follows earlier steps to streamline government operations, including the Department of Homeland Security terminating the collective bargaining agreement with TSA employees.

It also comes as HHS plans to eliminate 10,000 jobs in a major restructuring aimed at reducing bureaucratic bloat.

For conservatives who have long criticized the power of public sector unions, this executive order represents a significant victory in the battle against government inefficiency and union overreach.

By prioritizing national security over union power, President Trump is fulfilling his promise to drain the swamp and make government work for the American people, not special interests
