On Monday, former President Trump slammed Fox News calling it the “DeSanctimonious Network” and criticizing their so far coverage of Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis (R), who is considered to be the biggest challenger that Trump will have to face in the 2024 GOP primary.

Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social to claim that Fox News was “desperately pushing” for DeSantis, arguing that in the end, these attempts were going to be unsuccessful because DeSantis did not have “the goods.”

Trump has for years distanced himself from the news network that was previously key to his rise in prominence during the 2016 presidential election. At the time, Fox News had been heavily pushing for Trump and throughout his presidency had praised his administration. However, in his third presidential campaign, the former president has taken a different stance in how he is handling the news channel, especially following the recent announcement of Tucker Carlson’s departure from the network.

Trump has also slammed Fox News for agreeing to a $787 million settlement with Dominion Voting Systems over the recent defamation lawsuit that Dominion had filed against the network because of their coverage of the 2020 presidential election. In his post, Trump alleged that following the firing of Carlson, and their refusal to fight against the “rigged” elections, Fox News was made to pay millions of dollars which resulted in them losing their prestige and rating.

Trump then proceeded to attack DeSantis once again claiming that had it not been for his endorsement in 2018, DeSantis would not have had a future in Politics.
