On Monday (July 10), a video from President Joe Biden’s trip to the UK went viral after online critics claimed it showed the President looking lost and needing guidance.

Biden’s recent trip to the United Kingdom is the first he made since the coronation of King Charles III earlier this year.

The visit will kickstart a week of European diplomacy during which the Biden administration plans to focus on issues related to climate change and the continuing War in Ukraine.

After the two exchanged greetings, Biden paused and spoke to a guard at the end of the line during the Inspection of the Guard outside Windsor Castle.

While the President continued to speak, King Charles appeared to try to guide him away from the guard. After looking back between the monarch and the guard, Biden reluctantly followed behind the King and away from the soldiers.

Many on Twitter viewed the strange interaction as another “horrible” optics moment in which the President needed someone to point him in the right direction.

Ryan Fournier, the founder of Students for Trump, noted that King Charles had to show Biden where to go, adding the U.S. is “a laughing stock.”

David Bishop, President of the Nostalgia Network, noted the “optics of this are horrible for Biden,” explaining the President “looks like Mr. Magoo inspecting the troops.”

Joey Mannarino, a podcast host, suggested, “This is the dementia walk in full color and 1080p.”

Monday’s walk is the latest Biden moment to go viral in which the President makes a blunder concerning the monarch.

In June, Biden concluded a speech in Connecticut, saying, “God save the Queen,” despite the Queen’s passing nine months earlier in September 2022.

White House principal deputy press secretary Olivia Dalton later attempted to dismiss the mistake, claiming that Biden “was commenting to someone in the crowd.”
