(RightIsRight.co) – President Joe Biden has had a bizarre situation in which he first shook hands with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer and then looked as though he immediately forgot about it and was still awaiting a handshake from Schumer.
You can watch the sad and bizarre video further down this post.
Since taking office 1.5 years ago, Biden has been in several similar situations, frequently described as “senior moments,” which have led many to question his cognitive health.
The 79-year-old president’s new baffling episode was caught on video during the ceremony for signing the 2022 CHIPS and Science Act.
After giving a speech at the podium, New York Democrat and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer turned around and shook hands with Biden and three others standing behind him.
Besides Biden, the others present were US House of Representatives Speaker Nancy Pelosi, Secretary of Commerce Gina Raimondo, and the CEO of SparkCharge, Joshua Aviv.
Schumer first shook hands with Biden, who was second on the left and then with the three others.
Just seconds later, as the Senate Majority Leader had shaken hands with all four, the President seemed confused, reaching out his hand again for a handshake and perhaps even wondering why Schumer had ignored him.
The footage posted on Twitter then showed the New York Senator turn once again to the podium, continuing his remarks.
This is not the first situation in which Biden appeared confused and waiting for a handshake.
There have been at least two other cases, including one in Tel Aviv, Israel, last month, when he seemed to be turning to shake hands in a direction where there was no one.
Biden is turning 80 in November, weeks after the midterms, and is the oldest person to have ever served as President of the United States.
His public appearances have been a constant source of questions and concerns about his physical and mental health and fitness for office.
Here is the video:
All it takes is like 5 seconds for Joe Biden to forget he shook Chuck Schumer’s hand.
