(VIDEO) Kamala: US Is Suffering Because of Supreme Court

(RightIsRight.co) – Vice President Kamala Harris has declared that the entirety of the United States of America is “suffering” because of the recent ruling of the US Supreme Court, which ended federally protected abortion nationwide.

Harris was speaking in an interview on NBC News “Meet the Press” on Sunday when she commented on the June ruling of the Supreme Court in the case of Dobbs v. Jackson Women’s Health Organization.

You can watch a video clip of Harris’ remarks a bit further down this post.

In that decision, the conservative majority of the Supreme Court voted to overturn the 1973 Roe v. Wade ruling, which had legalized abortion on the federal level. It once again made it an issue each state decides upon.

The new ruling has been widely attacked by the left, and now Vice President Kamala Harris is arguing that it is causing “suffering [for America] as a nation.”

Harris argued that abortion had been established as a “constitutional right” for almost 50 years, thanks to Roe v. Wade.

“This court took that constitutional right away, and we are suffering as a nation because of it,” the vice president declared.

She accused the United States Supreme Court of being “an activist court” because of its anti-abortion ruling.

“We had an established right for almost half a century, which is the right of women to make decisions about their own body as an extension of what we have decided to be, the privacy rights to which all people are entitled,” Harris argued.

She was responding to a question by NBC News anchor Chuck Todd about whether she has confidence in the Supreme Court.

Harris went on to compare the current members of the Supreme Court with justices who sat on its bench in the past, stressing that the latter, unlike the former, served as an inspiration for her.

“That causes me great concern about the integrity of the court overall. Especially as someone who my life was inspired by people like Thurgood Marshall, and by the work on that court of Earl Warren to bring a unanimous court to pass Brown v. Board of Education,” the Democrat vice president said.

“This is the court that on once sat Earl Warren, Thurgood Marshall, and Sandra Day O’Connor. It’s a very different court,” she added.

In the same interview, Harris claimed that the Southern Border is “secure” – even though Customs and Border Protection data shows that some 4.9 million illegal immigrants have crossed it since she and President Joe Biden took over.

“We have a secure border in that that is a priority. … But there are still a lot of problems that we are trying to fix given the deterioration that happened over the last four years,” Harris said.
