“Squad” member Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez, D-N.Y., has been criticized online and is being called a “total fraud” following the re-emerging of her infamous “accent.” The video was taken in 2019 and it features Ocasio-Cortez using an “accent” at the Rev. Al Sharpton’s National Action Network convention.

The Democratic socialist congresswoman in the video was responding to those who have criticized her work as a bartender in an effort to delegitimize her work as a lawmaker.

On Tuesday, the speech she had made at the time reemerged after the Twitter account End Wokeness reposted the video along with a recent video she had made about former President Donald Trump in which she was not using that same access.

End Wokeness called Ocasio-Cortez a “total fraud” and pointed out the differences in her accent in the two videos.

The video has elicited many responses since its posting.

Former GOP congressional candidate Kimberly Klacik was quick to jokingly ask if this was an SNL skit that Ocasio-Cortez had appeared in.

“Fox and Friends Weekend” co-host Will Cain also claimed that her “pander is on point.”

Others however rose to her defense, with NK News editor Oliver Jia stating that he is “no AOC fan but this is petty nonsense to be making a case about.” Jia added that politicians in both parties will “change the cadence of their voice” depending on whom they are talking with, adding that this is also something that people from varying backgrounds will do depending on who they are with.
