(RightIsRight.co) – Texas Attorney General Ken Paxton is taking a stand against potential voter fraud, as he is suing the Harris-Biden administration for failing to provide crucial data on the citizenship status of nearly half a million registered voters in Texas.

Paxton filed the lawsuit against the Department of Homeland Security (DHS), Secretary Alejandro Mayorkas, U.S. Citizenship and Immigration Services (USCIS), and its director Ur Jaddou.

The suit demands the release of citizenship information for approximately 450,000 Texas voters who registered without using a Texas-issued driver’s license or ID card.

The Texas Attorney General argued that this information is vital for ensuring free and fair elections in the Lone Star State.

By withholding this data, the Harris-Biden administration is effectively blocking Texas from verifying the eligibility of these voters, potentially leaving the door open for non-citizens to cast ballots illegally.

“The Biden-Harris Administration has refused to comply with federal law, presenting yet another obstacle for Texas to overcome in ensuring free and fair elections in our state,” Paxton said.

He continued, “The law demands that they provide important information regarding the citizenship of nearly half a million potentially ineligible voters. Since the Biden-Harris Administration has chosen to ignore the law, I will see them in court.”

Meanwhile, the lawsuit comes at a critical time, with early voting already underway in Texas. Paxton’s office had previously sent a letter on October 7 demanding federal compliance by October 19, but the Biden administration failed to respond, forcing the Attorney General to take legal action.

While the DHS claimed that states can use the USCIS Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program to verify voter citizenship status, Paxton claimed that this system is inadequate for the task at hand.

USCIS director Ur M. Jaddou wrote to Texas Secretary of State Jane Nelson, adding that the agency “currently cannot offer an alternative process to any state.”

“The Systematic Alien Verification for Entitlements (SAVE) program is the most secure and efficient way to reliably verify an individual’s citizenship or immigration status, including for verification regarding voter registration and/or voter list maintenance,” he added.

This statement only serves to highlight the federal government’s unwillingness to cooperate with state efforts to maintain accurate voter rolls.

By refusing to provide alternative methods for verifying citizenship, the Biden administration is effectively tying the hands of state officials who are trying to uphold election integrity.

Nelson, a co-plaintiff, has backed Paxton’s lawsuit. This united front demonstrates the state’s commitment to ensuring that only eligible citizens are allowed to participate in Texas elections.

While Democrats and left-leaning organizations criticize these efforts as voter intimidation, the reality is that verifying voter eligibility is a crucial step in maintaining the integrity of the democratic process.
