On Wednesday’s (June 28) episode of “The View,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg criticized House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-Calif.) for being indecisive about whether former President Donald Trump is the best candidate to run against President Joe Biden in 2024. Goldberg urged McCarthy to “grow a pair of cojones” and be assertive and decisive in his leadership.

Goldberg suggested McCarthy was motivated by “fear” of his losing his job, introducing a clip she described as showing McCarthy “with no cojones.”

After Goldberg’s statement, a clip played of McCarthy on CNBC questioning whether Trump is the strongest Republican primary contender.

Goldberg highlighted that later the House Speaker told Breitbart that “you-know-who is Biden’s strongest opponent,” a reference to later comments made by McCarthy where he backtracked on his earlier statements and instead suggested that Trump is “stronger today than he was in 2016.”

Goldberg then declared she simply wanted McCarthy to “grow a pair of cojones that will give him some way to actually not waffle.”

Fellow co-host Sunny Hostin chimed in, claiming McCarthy couldn’t “because of the deal he made to become Speaker.”

Hostin suggested McCarthy “gave away his cojones” and wasn’t in possession of them anymore because he had “kicked them under the table.”

Earlier in the year, McCarthy struggled to obtain the Speaker’s gavel, only achieving success after 15 rounds of voting and plenty of deal-making and giving his opponents multiple concessions to secure the top House seat.

McCarthy’s flip-flopping remarks drew criticism on Tuesday (June 27) from both liberals and conservatives, with some in the latter group suggesting Trump cut him loose.
