(RightIsRight.co) – Known for his no-holds-barred approach to political commentary, James Carville did not hold back when he demolished Kamala Harris’ nomination for president to fielding a “seventh-string quarterback” in a political Super Bowl.

See the video below.

Carville’s comments shed light on the growing frustration within the Democrat Party about the candidates representing them.

Carville appeared on PBS’s Firing Line with Margaret Hoover, accompanied by GOP strategist Mike Murphy. The political veteran went all out on Harris and the Democratic leadership.

He criticized her for her inability to effectively communicate and navigate unscripted conversations, emphasizing the perceived lack of inspirational candidates since 2012.

Both Carville and Murphy attributed some of the blame for President Donald Trump’s election win to Joe Biden, suggesting that Biden should have ended his reelection bid in 2023.

Carville stated that Democrats must face their problems honestly, insisting that running a weak candidate like Harris was an error they could not afford.

Carville lamented that the Democrats had a “staggering talent” pool that was not tapped during the election.

This frustration led him to question voters’ choice between Harris and Trump, while more competent individuals remained overlooked within the party.

“We ran a presidential election. If we were playing in a Super Bowl, we started our seventh string quarterback. That’s what happened. Okay, let’s – you can’t you can’t address a problem unless you’re honest about a problem. And none of this was inevitable. Never should have happened,” he stated.

Moreover, Carville called for the Democrat Party to become more aggressive and realistic about its election strategies.

He suggested that a short primary could help establish a credible nominee, reinforcing the idea that complacency and lackluster leadership have no place in the face of an election against Donald Trump.

In a rare turn of events, Carville, who once voiced confidence in Harris’s chances by writing a New York Times column predicting her victory, acknowledged the growing doubts within his party about Harris’s electability.

His pivot from previous praise highlights the uncertainty gripping the Democrats as they face a crucial election season.

The Democrat Party’s hesitance and stumbles contrast sharply with the unity and enthusiasm observed in their prime opposition.

Carville’s pointed advice may provoke much-needed introspection that leads to necessary changes as the party struggles to connect with Americans seeking clear and decisive leadership.

As Democrats reflect on their choices, Carville’s stark metaphor of a “seventh-string quarterback” reminds them of the stakes.
