Ultra-Lib Governor: ‘Come After Me. Arrest Me’ – Video

Puzzle pieces with city names over American flag background.

An ultra-liberal governor has thrown down the gauntlet to President Trump’s border czar and challenged the administration to come after him and arrest him amid escalating immigration tensions and anti-ICE protests.

California Governor Gavin Newsom’s theatrical challenge comes as the Trump administration takes decisive action to enforce immigration laws that the governor has repeatedly undermined through California’s sanctuary policies.

The confrontation escalated after Tom Homan, Trump’s appointed border czar, warned that officials who obstruct federal immigration enforcement could face felony charges.

Homan made it clear that no one is above the law when it comes to impeding ICE operations, specifically calling out Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass for potentially harboring illegal aliens.

In response, Newsom publicly challenged the administration. “He’s a tough guy, why doesn’t he do that? He knows where to find me,” Newsom taunted.

“Come after me. Arrest me. Let’s just get it over with, tough guy,” the defiant Democrat told NBC News.

President Trump did not back down from Newsom’s challenge, stating he would personally arrest the California governor if he were in Homan’s position.

“I would do it, if I were Tom,” Trump declared, adding, “I like Gavin Newsom. He’s a nice guy, but he’s grossly incompetent, everybody knows that.”

The conflict erupted after violent anti-ICE protests broke out in Los Angeles, prompting Trump to deploy 2,000 National Guard troops to restore order.

Protesters set cars on fire and waved flags in support of illegal aliens, forcing the President to take action when local officials failed to control the situation.

“I’ll say about anybody, You cross that line, it’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement doing their job,” Homan said in response to Newsom’s attack.

Newsom’s defiance did not stop with verbal challenges. The governor announced plans to sue the Trump administration over the National Guard deployment, despite the clear need for federal intervention to protect citizens and property.

This latest move shows how far California’s leadership will go to protect illegal aliens rather than uphold the rule of law.

Homan defended ICE’s actions, emphasizing that operations target serious criminals and make communities safer.

“No one is above the law. If they cross the line, if they commit a crime– absolutely they can [be arrested] … All you hear is ICE being racists, being Nazis and Governor Newsom feeds that,” he remakred.

Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass took a more measured approach than Newsom, acknowledging her conversations with federal officials.

“I spoke to him last night. He understands that I am the mayor of the city; the last thing in the world I’m going to do is get into a brawl with the federal government,” Bass stated.

This suggested she might be more willing to cooperate with federal law enforcement than her governor.

The escalating situation highlights the stark contrast between the Trump administration’s commitment to enforcing immigration laws and California Democrats’ determination to obstruct federal authorities.

Although Newsom postures for political points with his base, President Trump is taking concrete action to protect American citizens from the consequences of unchecked illegal immigration and the violent protests it has spawned.
