This controversial group, based in Northern Michigan, has drawn attention due to a recent Netflix documentary.

Now, state and federal authorities are taking a closer look at their practices and promises.

The attorney general’s office executed search warrants at two homes in Leelanau County.

Jeff and Shaleia Divine operate Twin Flames Universe (TFU), claiming to guide individuals towards a “Harmonious Twin Flame Union,” a concept they describe as a perfect spiritual partnership.

Despite their assurances, allegations of coercive control have surfaced, prompting legal scrutiny.

Attorney General Dana Nessel urges anyone with information about criminal conduct involving TFU to contact her office anonymously.

The investigation collaborates with several agencies, including the U.S. Department of Labor and Michigan State Police.

The depth of this inquiry reflects concerns about the organization’s impact and methods.

Twin Flames Universe garnered significant attention following the release of “Escaping Twin Flames,” a 2023 Netflix docu-series.

Filmmakers Cecilia Peck and Inbal B. Lessner spent three years examining TFU’s recruitment and indoctrination strategies.

Former members have recounted unsettling experiences, including encouraged stalking and manipulation of identities.

Twin Flames Universe promotes various programs ranging from a $9.99 Kindle book to an extravagant $8,888 package, encompassing videos, guided meditations, and lessons.

However, it’s the high-control allegations and manipulation reports that have cast a shadow over their spiritual promises.

“We were flooded with messages from people who left high-control groups after releasing our series about the NXIVM cult, and the stories of the survivors and families impacted by Twin Flames Universe emerged as the most urgent to expose,” declared Cecilia Peck and Inbal B. Lessner.

Responding to accusations, TFU claims the allegations misrepresent their aims and respect for members’ autonomy.

However, the investigation into their methodology and business practices continues, focusing on the Divines and associated entities like Church of the Union.
