(RightIsRight.co) – After being the target of hungry media outlets seeking information about her and her whereabouts, Princess of Wales Kate Middleton has taken the lead as the most favored royal in the UK, surpassing her husband, Prince William.
A recent YouGov poll conducted between February and April revealed the shift in popularity, and it was due to her unexpected cancer revelation in mid-March.
Initially, Prince Charles held the top spot with 77 %, followed closely by Princess Diana with 74 %. However, by April, Kate’s announcement altered the dynamics.
She now commands the lead with 76 %, while Prince William follows closely with 73 %. Princess Anne secured the third spot with 71 %, outranking King Charles III, who received 63 %.
In contrast, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle find themselves lower down the popularity ladder, with Harry scoring 31 % and Meghan 26 %, which outperformed the embroiled Prince Andrew, who garnered a mere 6 % favorability.
In her moving video message, Kate shared her journey, stating, “It has been an incredibly tough couple of months for our entire family, but I’ve had a fantastic medical team who have taken great care of me, for which I am so grateful.”
She revealed that despite initially believing her condition was non-cancerous, subsequent tests post-surgery indicated otherwise, which led to the recommendation of preventative chemotherapy.
Princess Kate said it has not only taken time for her to recover from major surgery so she can start the chemo, but it’s also taken them “time to explain everything” to their three children, “George, Charlotte, and Louis in a way that is appropriate for them, and to reassure them that I am going to be OK.”
Kate’s absence from public events following her January surgery had sparked speculation about her health, which ended in her sincere announcement.
