Following a social media tirade, fitness influencer Brian Johnson, known as “Liver King” to his 2.9 million Instagram followers, was arrested on charges of making terroristic threats.
See the video further down this post.
The social media personality was detained in the Travis County Jail, following a series of unhinged videos where he repeatedly challenged podcast host Joe Rogan to a physical confrontation.
Johnson’s arrest comes after he posted multiple videos showing increasingly erratic behavior, including one where he attempted to bring a utility knife while making threats.
The arrest, classified as a Class B Misdemeanor, raises questions about the double standard of content moderation on major social media platforms.
This routinely allows specific figures to post threatening content while silencing conservative voices for much less.
In the days leading up to his arrest, Johnson posted several concerning videos where he directly threatened Rogan. He declared in one particularly troubling video:
“Joe Rogan, I’m calling you out, my name’s Liver King. Man to man, I’m picking a fight with you. I have no training in Jiu-jitsu, you’re a black belt, you should dismantle me. But I’m picking a fight with you. Your rules, I’ll come to you, whenever you’re ready.”
The controversial fitness personality gained fame by promoting what he called an “ancestral lifestyle” that included consuming raw animal organs and other primal practices.
Nevertheless, his credibility collapsed when he was exposed for secretly using steroids while claiming his physique came from his specialized diet of raw meat, including animal liver and testicles.
Johnson was even featured in a Netflix documentary that explored his rise to social media fame.
The streaming giant promoted him with the caption: “He built a supplement empire by devouring raw meat on social media. And he had the muscles to prove it. But, really, how did the Liver King get so huge?”
The answer, as many conservatives had suspected, turned out to be performance-enhancing drugs, not his heavily marketed lifestyle brand.
In addition, after Johnson traveled to Austin, where Rogan is based, law enforcement officials acted and posted multiple videos showing him pacing and ranting about fighting the podcast giant.
In one particularly disturbing clip, footage shows Johnson being handcuffed and placed into a police vehicle.
As of this reporting, no attorney information is available for Johnson, and the specific nature of the alleged threats that triggered the arrest remains unclear.
Rogan has never hosted Johnson on his immensely popular podcast but has previously discussed the “Liver King’s” steroid use.
After initially denying using performance enhancers, Johnson eventually admitted to using testosterone and human growth hormone after leaked emails exposed his pharmaceutical regimen.
Authorities have indicated the situation is ongoing, with more information expected to be released as the investigation continues.
Meanwhile, this incident highlights the growing problem of violent content being allowed to flourish on social media platforms that simultaneously censor conservative political speech under the guise of “community standards.”
