In the GOP presidential primary, Nikki Haley, the former governor of South Carolina, isn’t showing significant numbers. However, during the initial Republican debate on Wednesday evening, a surprising nod came her way from the White House.

On the social platform X (previously Twitter), President Joe Biden was mostly poking fun at the contenders during the debate, except for when Haley spoke about the rise in national debt during Donald Trump’s tenure as president.

Haley pointed out, “Ron DeSantis, Tim Scott, Mike Pence — they all supported increasing the debt. Trump contributed an additional 8 trillion to our national debt. Future generations might not look kindly on this.”

Biden’s response on X was simple: “Echoing her words.”

Later, Biden seemingly responded to Vivek Ramaswamy’s claim during the debate that climate change was a myth. In contrast, Haley recognized the reality of climate change but emphasized the need for the right approach. Biden shared on X: “Yes, climate change is a fact.”

With only 3.4% support as indicated by the FiveThirtyEight aggregate, Haley is in a tight race for fifth place, alongside figures like Tim Scott and Chris Christie.
