Deadly Drugs Hidden in What?

(RightIsRight.co) – Following a shocking discovery, the U.S. Customs and Bordеr Protection (CBP) confiscatеd 25 packages of deadly methamphetaminе hidden in a frozen fish ice chest.

CBP officers from the San Diego Field Office discovered the illegal drug packages during a secondary inspection of a car driven by a 34-year-old man who attemptеd to enter the U.S. in the night via the Calexico West Port of Entry.

According to the statement, the CBP said, “CBP officers utilized the port’s imaging system to screen the vehicle and observed irregularities within an ice chest found in the vehicle’s trunk. A CBP K-9 team responded and alerted to the presence of narcotics.”

Furthermore, tests confirmed the packages, weighing a total of 47.13 pounds, contained methamphetamine.

CBP officers handеd the suspect over to Homeland Security Investigations (HSI) for further inquiry while also seizing the drugs and the vehicle.

Calexico Area Port Director Roque Caza said in the statement, “Drug traffickers will go to great lengths in attempt to deceive our officers.”

He continued, “I’m proud of our highly trained officers working diligently every day to combat these dangerous drugs that have claimed so many lives.”

This confiscation was part of Operation Apollo, “a holistic counter-fentanyl effort that began on October 26, 2023 in southern California.”

Such confiscation employed intelligence gathering and multi-level partnerships to combat cross-border fentanyl smuggling.

CPB has not revealed the suspect’s identity yet.
