(RightIsRight.co) – Confirming he is all bark and no bite when faced with the chance to go on the record before the nation, Hunter Biden has swiftly declined an invitation for a public session during the impeachment inquiry into his father.
By refusing to appear before Congress, Hunter contradicts earlier assertions that he was willing to respond to questions in a transparent setting.
His lawyer, Abbe Lowell, criticized the House GOP’s investigation into the Biden family’s influence-peddling as theatrically motivated and described the forthcoming March 20 hearing as an inappropriate and desperate spectacle rather than a legitimate legal proceeding.
Hunter’s refusal comes after he engaged in an extensive private discussion on February 28, which occurred after avoiding a previously arranged date in December.
Instead of attending, Hunter delivered an unplanned public speech against Republican lawmakers and denied his father’s involvement in his international business dealings. Despite earlier calls from Hunter’s legal team for an open hearing, GOP representatives demanded a preliminary private discussion.
House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer (R-KY) expressed that the committee had effectively called Hunter’s bluff by noting Hunter’s refusal to appear alongside his former business associates after initially demanding a public hearing.
Comer emphasized the committee’s intention to proceed with the hearing and highlighted the public’s interest in uncovering the Bidens’ web of corruption.
In turn Lowell dismissed the credibility of Hunter’s would-be co-panelists, pointed out their legal troubles and questioned the sudden nature of Comer’s invitation.
He sarcastically commented on the thorough deposition in February and the impeachment inquiry’s reliance on alleged questionable sources, including convicted individuals and an indicted Russian spy, and suggested that these elements should have signaled the end of the impeachment efforts against Joe Biden.
The controversy deepens with the Justice Department’s recent actions against Alexander Smirnov, a former FBI informant accused of spreading unfounded accusations against Joe and Hunter regarding financial dealings with Burisma Holdings.
This development is being used by Hunter’s legal team and Democrats in an attempt to dismiss a separate tax evasion case in Southern California, in which both Hunter and Smirnov have declared their innocence.
