Former President Donald Trump took to his social media platform, Truth Social on Tuesday to joke that following the $200,000 bond that was set in Fulton County, Georgia he should flee to Russia. Trump was indicted by a Fulton County grand jury in connection to his attempts to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in the state.

Trump in his post claimed that Fani Willis, the District Attorney responsible for the charges against him had been the one to “insist” on a bond being set. He argued that she did so because she believed him to be a “ ‘flight’ risk.” He then proceeded to joke that perhaps he should fly away to Russia where he was going to “share a gold-domed suite” with Russian President Vladimir Putin. He added that he would be able to take this trip never to be seen or heard from again in his “very ‘understated’ airplane” that has his name written in gold letters. He continued by arguing that perhaps it would be better for him to fly on a commercial flight as no one would be able to recognize him.

On Thursday Trump is set to surrender himself in Fulton County following his recent indictment on 13 charges which include racketeering charges. Trump has maintained that he has committed no wrongdoings in this case, or in any of the other cases that he has recently been indicted for. Instead, he has argued that all of the charges brought forth against him in the four indictments are politically motivated.
